Women In Print

I was honoured to be invited to take part in the Women In Print exhibition, alongside sixteen other designers, print-makers and illustrators, to celebrate the life and achievements of sixteen iconic female figures who've made a significant contribution to Manchester. The amazing woman I was given was Dr Kathleen Drew-Baker, a British phycologist who specialised in the research of edible seaweed and algae. In Japan she is known as "Mother of the Sea" as her research helped save the nori industry.

In my piece I wanted to capture the essence of the "Mother of the Sea"- the woman herself, and the legacy she left behind.
